Myanmar: Thailand's PTT says Myanmar gas fields to shut for maintenance in April

Thailand's sole natural gas supplier PTT said on Thursday that three fields in Myanmar would be shut down for maintenance in April. Thailand uses natural gas to generate nearly 70 percent of its electricity, and about a fifth of its supplies are imported from Myanmar.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced that it will not oppose Woodside’s proposed acquisition of Apache's interests in the Wheatstone, Balnaves and Kitimat Projects. The Wheatstone and Balnaves Projects are located in the Northern Carnarvon Basin, offshore WA, while the Kitimat Project is located in British Columbia, Canada.

Indonesia expects 60 pct increase in gas demand over next 5 years

Indonesia will need an additional 1,300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas supplies within five years, to meet forecast demand from power stations and fertilizer plants, according to an energy ministry official.

Eneabba Gas has entered into a binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) with Greenpower Energy for an option to acquire 100% of the issued capital of Greenpower’s wholly owned subsidiary, GCC Methane. GCC owns a 50% interest in Exploration Permit 447 (EP 447), located in the Perth Basin, approx. 20 kms to the south-east of Eneabba’s Ocean Hill Project.

CGG has started acquiring the Davros 3D BroadSeis and BroadSource multi-client survey in the Northern Carnarvon Basin on the North West Shelf of Western Australia. Covering in excess of 11,000 km2, Davros is the largest seismic survey ever to be acquired by CGG in the Asia-Pacific region.
