Malaysia: Murphy Oil closes second phase of partial divestment of Malaysian assets to Pertamina

Murphy Oil Corp announced that its wholly owned subsidiaries, Murphy Sabah Oil and Murphy Sarawak Oil, have closed on the second phase of the sale of 30% of Murphy's Malaysian oil and gas assets to Pertamina Malaysia Eksplorasi Produksi. The second phase covers the remaining one-third of the transaction or 10% of Murphy's Malaysian oil and gas assets.

China: CNPC completes deepest onshore well in China in the Tarim oil field

CNPC has reported that, on January 21, well Keshen-902 was completed at a depth of 8,038m, 15m deeper than well Keshen-7 ( 8,023m) drilled in 2011 in the Kelasu structural belt. The well is the deepest onshore well drilled to date in China.
